Matt McCall, Crew Chief, No. 1 Monster Energy Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 – β€œThat was how you turn a good day to bad really quickly, in one lap. We really worked with Kurt to get the balance right on the Monster Energy Chevy early in the race. Our pit strategy worked out that we were a top-five or top-10 car most of the day. Unfortunately, we just ran the driver out of gas on the last lap. It’s tough to ask the driver to save fuel like that; we just came up short.”

MENCS teams will head to Bristol Motor Speedway next week for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race on Saturday, Aug. 17. NBC Sports, PRN affiliates and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90 will have live coverage beginning at 7:30pm ET.
